Soles for Little Souls PartnershipSigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and SPEAR traditionally teams up to provide new shoes to children in local homeless shelters. The goal of the national shoe drive, “Soles for Little Souls,” is to give away 100,000 pairs of shoes to children in every community where Sigma Gamma Rho chapters exist. Distribution will take place simultaneously nationwide.
As a catalyst agent for service, SPEAR’s goal is to make a significant impact on public awareness and the level of contributions to those in need during our centennial. The SPEAR Community Service Project will kick-off during the month of February. During the month of February, we are asking that donations be accepted on behalf of hundreds of local children/students living in a transitional residence and/or select charities/schools on a national platform in our communities. We ask that you please use the following hashtags #SolesForLittleSouls #SPEARFOUNDATION when sharing your photos and events on social media. |
The idea of partnering with other national, regional or local organizations in your community can also be looked at for maximum participation in all arenas. The actual event is to occur on February 22, 2023. This will allow for the collaboration with community-based organizations as well as provide shoes for those in need. Please look at hub cities, community organizations to highlight, once the donations are made and give recognition via social media to those areas.
Since often we don't know the shoe sizes in advance, The SPEAR Foundation is asking that your donations be given in the form of gift cards, e-gift cards or gift certificates from your local stores that sell shoes in your area.
