The work of the Sigma Public Education and Research (SPEAR) Foundation is strengthened by people who believe that their professional expertise, experience, and time can help create meaningful community impact.
Through our 2026–2028 Call for Leadership & Service, SPEAR is building a broader network of talented professionals and volunteers who can help strengthen our programs, infrastructure, partnerships, resource development, and ability to demonstrate measurable impact.
Professional volunteers have an opportunity to work alongside Foundation leadership, contribute specialized expertise, build relationships, strengthen nonprofit systems, and directly support work designed to expand opportunity and strengthen communities.
All opportunities listed on this page are unpaid volunteer service positions unless otherwise noted and are primarily remote.
Current Open Positions/Volunteer Opportunities
Grant Writer
Remote | Professional Volunteer | Approximately 2-5 Hours per week
SPEAR is currently seeking an experienced Volunteer Grant Writer to strengthen our grant-development capacity and help expand the philanthropic resources available to advance our mission.
Application Materials
Applicants will be asked to provide a resume or CV and information demonstrating their grant-development experience, including representative funding secured and their role in successful proposals. Redacted work samples or award documentation are encouraged.
