Mini-Grant Program
The Sigma Public Education and Research (SPEAR) Foundation is proud to announce its Mini-Grant Program for the 2026-2027 FY (FY27), awarding one-time grants between $500 - $1,500. The purpose of these grants is to support local activities and initiatives that align with SPEAR’s mission to promote social, civic, cultural, economic, and educational progress for vulnerable or at-risk families and communities.
The Following entities are eligible to apply:
Alumnae chapters/undergraduate chapters/affiliates of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
Community-Based Organizations (CBOs)
The Foundation will award grants to qualifying entities that meet program requirements and adhere to the outlined timeline.

Grant applications will be available beginning on May 1st, 2026.
Program Timeline:
Announcement/Release of Request of Application: April 1, 2026
Intent to Apply Due: Extended through April 30, 2026 (11:59 pm PST)
Pre-Application Webinar Recording: posted for review on the Mini-Grant webpage by April 30, 2026
Application Opens: May 1, 2026
Application Closes: May 15, 2026 (11:59 pm PST)
Application Reviews: Through June 1, 2026
Award Announcements: By June 30, 2026
Grant Distribution: By July 15, 2026
Implementation Deadline: By May 30, 2027
Data Report Submission Deadline: Within 90 days after program implementation or June 30, 2027 (whichever is earlier)
